Lake Placid

At Lake Placid, Florida "The Town of Murals", Stephen and B.B. King enjoy great grass (right next to the police station yet). On the Chamber of Commerce's building is painted a Cracker style Post Office mural. There is significant history for postal carriers in Florida where some walked well over a hundred miles each week, through swamps and dangerous territory to deliver the mail.

Lake Placid

On Main routes the mail was brought to area post offices by buckboard pulled by horses, which could be spooked by gators, snakes, bob cats, cougars, panthers, black bear, snakes, coyotes,....but not alpacas (even though alpacas are true North American animals).

Lake Placid

Stephen and Bon Bon meet with the men of Seminole Tire in Lake Placid to make sure their vehicle gets great treatment for on the road to Lake Placid, New York. The two alpacas are part of a mission to help re-introduce Lake Placid, Florida to Lake Placid, NY and invite the great people of each to join as "sister cities." The Florida Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce entrusts Stephen and Bon Bon to take DVDs of the Town Murals and Caladium Festival, Caladium seeds, a license plate and umbrella along with dozens of mural magazines explaining the artwork and drive for it. It is hoped that the two young ambassadors will attract attention for the Lake Placid, NY folks to respond to and make the Florida connection.

Introducing: Stephen Colbert

CVA STEPHEN COLBERT (IPA: kolber) born September 25, 2005 is a handsome, fun loving, hunk of huacaya alpaca, a satirist, becoming known for his portrayal of an American icon by acting as much as an alpaca can, like his namesake, the brilliant, award winning comedian and show host, Stephen Tyrone Colbert.

CVA Stephen Colbert—the alpaca, is an instant hit wherever he appears, recently touring South Beach, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Orlando and other Florida "hot spots." His good looks and major masculine reputation has preceded him in other parts of America, and he enjoys invitations to "visit the girls" from alpaca farms and ranches ranging from Florida to New York and Maryland to Tennessee and Kentucky, out to California. This is a ‘spokesalpaca” designed to represent PACA PEOPLE USA and other national alpaca owner groups.
